Shoutout to Ruby Writt for writing this amazing article and helping shine a spotlight on CSCS and our national recognition!

Clark Street Community School student Ruby Writt was featured in the Times-Tribune!

Ruby wrote an article about the school's recognition as a FullScale Learning research site. The education nonprofit is conducting a national study on competency-based learning, a key part of the school's student-centered approach to learning.

"While competency-based learning can sound abstract in theory, its impact becomes clearest through student experience," Ruby said in her article. "As a rising senior at CSCS, attending this school has completely changed the way I think about learning."

Garden lab making a difference in our community!

Clark Street Community School's flex farm is in the local and statewide spotlight!

Fork Farms, a Wisconsin hydroponics equipment supplier, featured CSCS Teacher Ross Cohen's Garden Lab seminar in a recent newsletter. Students in Mr. Cohen's class take the lead on growing kale, basil, and lettuce in hydroponic towers, which ThermoFisher Scientific generously donated to the school.

Plus, the Garden Lab seminar recently donated nearly 15 pounds of lettuce to the Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens. Read more β€” https://loom.ly/1GhLug8 β€” and join us in thanking ThermoFisher for their support as well as our students for showing the Community-Oriented Cardinal Mindset in action!
