Last bit of heart art from last week. Getting to use hammers is always fun. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Two super simple heart collage invitations for class today! We watercolor painted both a piece of paper and wood squares, then while our paint dried, we cut and pasted to create mix-matched paper collages. Then we punched our own teeny painted hearts and collaged them onto the squares. Still very gluey in this last photo, but they will be nice and sealed! 😉❤️
Collage is this month’s .creativityproject focus, and I am always on board with collage!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
My 9-year-old decided on her own last night to whip up 14 friendship bracelets that double as bookmarks for her class and teachers. I just love them and her. ♥️

The sweetest heart boxes, plus beading, printmaking, collaging, and slime! Thank you to all the families who joined our Valentines workshop. ♥️ These special and seasonal workshops are my new fave, and I’m already dreaming up future ideas!

Wintery wall hangings. Giving some of our January projects a permanent spot on the feed. ❄️💙

Some of our finished mixed media calendars! I just looove how they turned out. ♥️ The kids were so thoughtful and intentional about their material choices and designs for each month. This may have to be a Rock Paper Scissors tradition to start each year!

Haven’t met a kid yet who didn’t enjoy making recycled robots! I’ve done this one multiple times, and it’s an easy one you can try at home, too! (Swipe through to see some finished robots and supplies we used today.)

Winter houses! A creative invitation and a highlight from the week with 22 different visions, including a horse barn and Green Bay Packers fan!
I’ve been saving our milk cartons for over a year without a plan, but I had a lightbulb moment when shared some simple cardboard houses her young students made. I added some other stuff from my recycled stash: ridged cardboard, silver packing material, leftover stuffing, packing peanuts, egg cartons, and noodle mushrooms from last summer’s fairy camp. Art making can be so supply heavy, I always love to find ways to reuse and reimagine things that otherwise end up in the bin. The best part - every child went home with an LED light to make their house glow at night. ✨
