Kindergarten Visitation Day is tomorrow August 11th from 1-3pm!

When you arrive at the Kindergarten Visitation Day, we will welcome you and your child into our cafeteria and provide you with a brief welcome from the school and from members of our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). From there, students will go with their teachers to the classrooms and have 2 hours of school-based experiences, like participating in a “Morning Meeting,” engaging in some classroom activities, and enjoying some time on the playground as teachers observe the children’s social-emotional and academic skills.

If you have questions about the school, staff members will remain in the cafeteria to answer them after the students leave. Once they’re done with the two hours, students will be brought back to the cafeteria at the end of the two hours to rejoin their families. At that point, we’d be happy to give you a tour of the school or you could certainly have them show you the classroom or playground or share what they learned

Welcome Back from the Health Office!

In preparation to return to the building, we are asking families to please submit any required emergency medications and physician orders to the health office.
This includes physician orders for self-carry/self administered medications. Please remember that physician orders require both a physician’s and a parent/guardian signature.
Orders can be faxed directly to the Sunset Ridge Health Office at 608-827-1805.
To ensure the safety of all students, please review the following critical requirements:
Forms & Parent Signatures: Prior to dropping off any medication, please ensure that all necessary medication administration forms are thoroughly completed and signed by a parent or guardian.
Verification at Drop-Off: A designated staff member must verify all medications and completed paperwork at the time of drop-off. Please plan a few extra minutes for this verification process when you come in.
Student Transport Prohibited: For safety reasons, medications may not be sent to school with students in their backpacks or on the bus.
All medications must be delivered directly by an adult.
Early Drop-Off Option: School staff will return the week prior to the start of the school year. Families are welcome to drop off medications early during that week to beat the first-day rush.
Medications and signed orders can be dropped off at the main office during regular school hours (Elementary Hours 7:45 to 2:45) and Back to School Night.

Congratulations to Bill Boehm at Middleton High School and Chris Rago at Sunset Ridge Elementary School for earning the ISTE Educator Certification this summer!

This professional accreditation is a rigorous, months-long process designed to recognize educators who have mastered the use of technology to transform learning in their classrooms. It focuses on high-leverage instruction and the ISTE Standards, ensuring that technology is used to deepen student engagement, promote equity, and foster critical thinking.

Mr. Boehm and Mr. Rago are joining an elite group of educators worldwide dedicated to preparing students for a rapidly changing digital world. MCPASD is incredibly grateful for their expertise guiding our students and inspiring their peers!

Kindergarten Families! Join Us for Our Kindergarten Playdate!

We'd love for you to join us on Sunday, August 9, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at the lower playground at Sunset Ridge Elementary for a fun Kindergarten Playdate!

This is a wonderful opportunity for incoming kindergarteners to meet new friends before the school year begins, while parents and caregivers can connect with other kindergarten families.

The event will be held outdoors, weather permitting.

We can't wait to welcome you and your family to our school community!

A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO OUR AMAZING Sunset Ridge Elementary PTA! We appreciate all that you do for our Sunset community! We can’t wait to enjoy our beautiful new staff lounge in the fall!

The PTA said, “Let’s enjoy a relaxing summer,” and then immediately bought paint.

We’re officially working on the staff lounge refresh — because apparently our idea of vacation includes rollers, paint, and pretending we know what we’re doing.

Stay tuned… things are getting colorful. Out with the brown in with the blue 🎨
