Check out the weather! The students in the third grade are learning about water and climate. As part of this unit we study what a meteorologist is and the different tools meteorologists use to predict the weather. We also learn about several other related topics such as cloud formation, the water cycle, and storms. During the presentation, meteorologist Blaise Keller talked to the students about his job as a meteorologist at channel 27 news and also shared some interesting facts about storms, clouds, and the water cycle.

Welcome back to the Hat Ladies! Each year around this time an amazing group of women come to Sauk Trail, set up their sewing machines in our conference room and sew new winter hats for each 2nd grader and new to Sauk Trail 3rd graders. Over two days this week they made 93 hats. Bringing the grand total to 852 hats over the past ten years. The students get to pick the fabric and watch the magic happen before their own eyes. Three of our Hat Ladies are retired Sauk Trail teachers! Many thanks to Rose, Carol, Peg, Kris, Joan, Dee and Bonnie. Your loving hearts and amazing sewing skills will help keep our students warm this winter!
