Congratulations to Jason and Sandra Gordon on passing their E Dan (2nd Degree Black Belt) test and to Aislin Gordon on passing her Sam Dan (3rd Degree Black Belt) test!

Three members of the same family reaching major Black Belt milestones together is something worth celebrating. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to their training, Valentin Karate, and the WTSDA have been incredible to watch.

And the celebration is even bigger because yesterday was Aislin’s 16th birthday! 🎉🎂 What a way to celebrate!

🥋 Congratulations to Alessia Hebert on passing her Black Belt test! 🖤

This moment represents so much more than a single test. It’s the result of a multi-year journey filled with hard work, commitment, perseverance, and growth.

Through every win and every loss, every high and every hurdle, Alessia has continued to show up, learn, adjust, and move forward. She embraced the challenges along the way with a growth mindset, understanding that doing hard things and working toward something that takes years to achieve builds more than technique. It builds character.

As I shared in the video, earning a Black Belt is a mile marker, not a finish line. There are many more miles to travel and many more markers ahead, but this is certainly one worth stopping to celebrate.

Alessia, you’ve earned this moment. We are incredibly proud of you and excited to see where the journey takes you next! 🥋🖤👏

🏆 August Students of the Month 🏆

Congratulations to Dante and Mrs. Sandra Gordon on being recognized as our August Students of the Month! 🥋

Dante has become an outstanding martial artist through his commitment to improving every day. His attention to detail, strong technique, and relentless work ethic were on full display at the World Championships, where his dedication was rewarded with multiple placements.

Ms. Sandra Gordon continues to be the heart of our VK and WTSDA family. At the World Championships, she went above and beyond her role as a TK/SK to make every competitor feel welcomed, supported, and valued.

It was an honor to welcome Natalie Motta to Valentin Karate yesterday! 🥋

Joining us alongside Master Rodriguez and Master Farrelly, Ms. Motta spent the evening training with and inspiring our students. She comes to us from Region 2, but around here we’ve adopted her as one of our own. In fact, we like to joke that she’s officially part of Region 9.2! 😄🙃

Beyond being an incredible martial artist, Ms. Motta is a true technician who embodies the spirit of Tang Soo Do through her skill, humility, and willingness to share her knowledge. Our students had an amazing opportunity to learn from her, and we’re grateful she took the time to train with us.
