Middlebury Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest The Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest serves as a hub for ideas and action, promoting sustainability on campus and around the world.

The Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest is home to the Dean of Environmental Affairs, the Program in Environmental Studies, and the Sustainability Integration Office. The building itself also exemplifies Middlebury’s commitment to sustainability with a LEED Platinum certification from the US Green Building Council.

All are welcome to the third annual Sustainability & Environmental Affairs (SEA) Welcome Back Social and Poster Session, September 15, 4-5:30 PM in The Orchard (Franklin Env. Center at Hillcrest 103).

Are you curious about the various important projects that SEA interns engaged with over the summer? Are you a student thinking about getting involved or applying to be an SEA intern yourself in the future?

Come chat with current interns and staff from the Knoll, the Climate Action Fellowship (CAF), and the Sustainability Solutions Lab (SSL) to learn more about their work and what’s possible through SEA paid internships!

The Thirteenth Annual Bread Loaf Environmental Writers’ Conference (BLEWC) begins this Sunday, June 14!

BLEWC is an incredible annual workshop designed to hone the skills of people interested in producing literary writing about the environment and the natural world. This year’s conference faculty will feature acclaimed place-based and environmental writers and poets and four Midd students will be attending the conference thanks to the BLEWC scholarship program.

Some of the lectures and events are open to the public- swipe to check out open events and come on up to Bread Loaf and immerse yourself in the world of environmental writing!
