May is all about plants at Joyful Journeys! Today we learned about the different parts of a plant and that we utilize many different plant parts for eating. We were able to try seeds (sunflower seeds), flowers (broccoli), stems (celery), leaves (spinach), and roots (carrots)!

Sometimes when your class goes off script making leprechaun traps, you abandon your lesson plans and embrace it! Did it feel a bit chaotic? Absolutely! But it was so much fun watching the planning, engineering, and teamwork that went into these creations! It may not have been what we intended for the day, but there was still so much learning taking place!
