Inspired by Flat Stanley, students teamed up with 8th grade mentors to create life-size “Flat Me” versions of themselves. Each one was mailed to friends and family near and far, along with a personal note.

When their Flat Me(s) return, students excitedly share the journeys and destinations they’ve explored—bringing geography to life in a fun and meaningful way.

The 4th grade recently took a field trip to Richmond to visit the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. During their visit, students explored the Ancient Egyptian and Chinese exhibits, connecting what they have learned in history class this year to real-world artifacts. Seeing these historical objects in person brought their studies to life in a meaningful way.

Students had the opportunity to view artwork and artifacts from the ancient world, including a real mummy, which was an especially exciting highlight of the trip. This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of ancient civilizations and made their learning both engaging and memorable.
