On June 19, 1865, a pivotal moment in American history took place. U.S. Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and issued General Order No. 3, officially declaring that all enslaved people were free - more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Students in our PLTW - Project Lead The Way Biomedical Science satellite program explored exciting careers in healthcare through hands-on learning - from veterinary medicine at West Park Animal Hospital to demonstrations by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office and Life Flight Critical Care, plus a day at CSU - Cleveland State University exploring nursing, occupational therapy and physical therapy.
