Middleborough High School is proud to announce and welcome James Morocco as the new Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach.

MIDDLEBOROUGH, MA — Middleborough High School is pleased to announce the appointment of James Morocco as the new Head Coach of the Varsity Girls Basketball program. A dedicated educator and experienced coach, Morocco brings a wealth of basketball knowledge, leadership, and a student-centered philosophy to the Sachems.

Morocco has been a Physical Education teacher at Middleborough High School since 2019 and has built an impressive coaching resume at the collegiate, high school, and middle school levels. A four-year basketball letterman at Fitchburg State University, he has served as an assistant coach for both men's and women's basketball programs at several NCAA Division III institutions, while also mentoring student-athletes throughout his coaching career.

Coach Morocco believes athletics are the "other half of education," emphasizing the development of students academically, athletically, socially, and mentally. His coaching philosophy focuses on building character, promoting personal responsibility, and creating an environment where student-athletes are challenged to become the best versions of themselves both on and off the court.

Known for his enthusiasm, patience, and commitment to fostering strong relationships with players and families, Morocco is excited to lead the next chapter of Middleborough Girls Basketball.
