🌲 Part-Time Maintenance Worker Wanted – Nature School in Middleborough, MA

Fern Brook Nature School is looking for a dependable, hands-on part-time maintenance worker to help care for our nature-based school property in Middleborough.

This position will average approximately 20–25 hours per month, with a flexible schedule. The exception is mowing, which will need to be completed outside of school hours for the safety of our students.

Responsibilities include:

-Lawn mowing and w**d whacking
-Trail maintenance and upkeep
-Monitoring the property for safety hazards
-Cutting up and clearing downed trees
-Brush hogging meadow areas
-Pest control
-Simple repairs and general property maintenance
-Coordinating larger repairs and projects with outside contractors
-Maintaining equipment or coordinating equipment maintenance with outside contractors
-Helping with snow and ice removal, including walkways and snow blowing
-General seasonal property maintenance as needed

Equipment provided for use:
- Tractor with brush hog
- Zero-turn mower
- W**d whacker
- Snowblower

A separate plowing company will handle the driveway and parking areas, so this position will primarily focus on walkways, buildings, trails, equipment, and the overall safety and upkeep of the property. If you have the equipment and desire to take on the driveway and parking lot plowing as well, that would be an even bigger plus!

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, self-directed, comfortable working independently, and able to recognize and address maintenance and safety needs proactively. Experience with property maintenance, small engines, tractors, or similar work is a plus.
