🦁🍎 Longwood is Ready

Before students return, Longwood’s faculty and staff gathered for Superintendent’s Conference Day to launch the 2026–2027 school year with pride, gratitude, and purpose.

The morning included a welcome to more than 90 new faculty and staff members and recognition of employees reaching 25, 30, and 40 years of service, representing 1,530 combined years of dedication to Longwood students and schools.

Congratulations to Administrator of the Year Amy Staubitz, CSEA Member of the Year Ben Moscatiello, and Teacher of the Year Shani Little.

Thank you to Sofia Caquias for opening the program with the National Anthem, and to Board President Victoria Molloy for closing the morning with a message of gratitude and our continued promise to Every One … Every Day.

Longwood Welcomes 78 New Educators

Longwood's newest educators kicked off their journey at New Teacher Orientation, where they heard from school and district leaders, met our Board of Education, and connected with the mentors and support systems that will guide their first year. Seventy-eight new teachers join Longwood this year, and 22 of them are Longwood alumni returning to the district that shaped them.

The week included the annual bus tour, giving our new teachers a firsthand look at the hamlets and neighborhoods their students call home. From exploring their new schools to learning what Every One...Every Day means in practice, these educators are ready. We cannot wait to see what they bring to our classrooms!

Ready for the Year Ahead!

Longwood's Board of Education holds its first meeting of the 2026-2027 school year on Thursday, August 27 at 7:00 PM.

The Board enters the year with Victoria Molloy as President, Matthew Gropper as Vice President, Lance Lohman, Ed.D., as Superintendent of Schools, and Lillian Pizzolo as District Clerk. Gina Pozzolano Gebbia and Jeanne Knudsen were sworn in for three-year terms at this summer's reorganization meeting, where the Board also welcomed newest Student Ex-Officio Board Member, Jeffey Lin.
