Join Dance Sensation Dance Academy! We’re accepting new students through the Autumn. Enjoy free trial classes and registration, and explore the options of our youth dance division!

Our PRE-DANCE CLASS is available on Fridays and is geared towards the youngest ballerinas in training. This 45min class focuses on rhythm, movement, songs, traveling, counting, skipping and basic tumbling…all done in soft sole ballet slippers! 🩰

COMBO CLASSES are tailored for each individual young dancer. Organized into 30 minute time blocks, students get to sample different genres and learn the basic skills of TAP, JAZZ, BALLET & HIP HOP before advancing through the next levels! Combo Classes are also a great way to save on multiple class options!🙂

DSDA’s ACROBATICS class is one of the most popular lessons throughout the week! In this unique setting dancers of all ages and abilities come together in the main room to hone their tumbling skills! No previous acrobatic or gymnastic training required.

Established in September of 1996, Dance Sensation Dance Academy has dedicated itself to the development of the artistic growth within the Long Island community, through the powerful vehicle of dance. Founded by Susan Nachtrab, Dance Sensation offers a wide variety of classes for all ages and levels - beginner through professional, pre-school through adult. Even after 3 decades DSDA is continuing to grow and expand and we are looking forward to welcoming new and returning students for a fabulous year of dance!!

📸 Combo Tap Class in Dance Gala 2024: Talk to the Animals

Are you looking for a fun, new activity for your pre-schooler? Dance Sensation Dance Academy has just what you are looking for! Enroll your little one in our 45- minute introductory dance class: PRE-DANCE.

This 45 minute class combines elements of all dance genres in a fun and caring environment. Young dancers learn and refresh important motor skills, practice counting, learn to follow directions, sing songs and even learn basic tumbling.

Not sure if your child is ready or willing? No worries! We always offer free trial classes so there is no commitment up front and we will even provide a pair of ballet slippers for your first class so there is no need to buy shoes until your little one is ready! Our littlest dancers are even included in our end of the year Dance Gala and because we have so many loving and attentive student teachers, no child is left unattended.

Dance Sensation Dance Academy’s Acrobatics Class has always been the highlight of every Dance Gala since 1997! This one hour training class combines all ages and abilities into a workshop, whereas students are able to advance at their own pace.

With a focus on flexibility and strengthening, our classes are taught with safety as a priority. No student is ever left unsupervised while executing tricks and our teachers are mindful to only allow students to advance to more difficult skills when they are ready. The supportive environment allows for dancers from different classes to come together and work in a unique studio space. Whether you are working towards a cartwheel or a back hand spring… all are welcome in our weekly acrobatics class.

Dance Sensation Dance Academy offers a wide range of jazz dance styles tailored for each class level. Jazz dance classes focus on flexibility, turns, leaps, jumps, body isolations, floor work and control. All classes are taught with age appropriate attention. Jazz students are taught a wide range of jazz dance styles: ranging from classical musical theater jazz to more contemporary pop jazz.

Dance Sensation Dance Academy is the official home of The Elite Corps de Ballet of Long Island. Our studio is unique for its concentration and foundation of ballet technique classes that help mold talented and diverse dancers. Primary ballet lessons are offered in a combo class setting, whereas young dancers can learn basic technique, terminology and phrasing. As students advance through our syllabus they make great leaps forward eventually advancing to pointe work, based on individual progress and ability.

Miss Susan & Mr. Christopher lead the dancers through the ballet curriculum with great concentration on quality and style, based on the aesthetic of George Balanchine. Each year ballet students are invited to audition for the annual holiday production of The Nutcracker …And at the end of each year our advanced students participate in a large ballet production in our dance gala that pays tribute to classical ballet.
