What a great day for our Blitz Team to give back to the community! We have been grateful to have received grant funding in the past from Cleveland-Cliffs to support our team. We were able to give back a bit today and be part of the Inaugural “Trunk or Treat” sponsored by USW Local 6787 in Chesterton. What a fun event!!! We gave away all of our candy and made many trick-or-treaters happy!!!

Results are in! Congratulations to Jennings County for taking first, Michigan City for taking second, and Park Tudor for taking third in today’s Fall Classic. Great job to all 20 karts that competed! Michigan City Robotics Park Tudor School

Plainfield Tournament Recap:
35 high school robotics teams met at Plainfield High School for a 2-day tournament. After 70 “3 on 3” Qualification Matches, 24 teams made the Playoffs. MCHS Robotics Team 3936, the RoboBlitz, was selected to be on the #1 (Top Seeded) Alliance team of 3 robots.

Playoff Round 1: Lost 103 to 85
Playoff Round 2: Lost 99 to 95

Kudos to our team who modified our robot with a Blocker Screen (see photo below) to play defense and try and impede scoring by our opponents. They were innovating to the very end!

An amazing turn of events; we have been selected to compete in today’s tournament!!!!

Here’s a photo of just before the start of our last match in Mishawaka this weekend. We scored in Autonomous Mode (pre-programmed computer coded scripted movements of the robot) and by scooping up rings and shooting them into targets, but fell just short of making the playoffs this weekend. We will work hard over the next 3 weeks and prepare for the next tournament at Plainfield HS. Let’s go Blitz!!!
