We ended our season this year with a loss to Penn in sectionals tonight. I can't begin to explain how proud I am of our girls this year. A high school soccer season feels like a whole year of ups and downs and positives and negatives experienced in a period of two and a half months. We ended the game with all our seniors on the field together, and the closeness of this crew was obvious in the post-game reactions. I gauge the success of our team in terms of relationships made, lessons learned, and goals accomplished. This year was a huge success.

Michigan City Girls Varsity Soccer beat New Prairie 2 – 1 on Saturday.

The Wolves were down 1 – 0 at halftime, but staged a comeback with two goals in the second half to secure the win.

Both City goals were scored by Gillian Allender; and the defense — led by Ava Taylor, To’Ney Jones, Valerie Oakes, and Gerzey Hibner — played especially well. Erin Piazzisi and Madelyn Shinn drove the team forward from midfield.

This was City's fourth straight win.

Michigan City will face rival LaPorte on Tuesday night on Senior Night. Please come and support the girls!

The Lady Wolves soccer team beat hometown rival Marquette yesterday 5 -1 at the MAC. Gilly Allender scored all 5 goals, and Madelyn Shinn and Gabby Patino recorded assists. Senior goalkeeper Madison Tilden made a big penalty save to keep Marquette scoreless at 0 - 0. City next play New Prairie tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at home, and LaPorte on Tuesday night. The LaPorte game is Senior Night. We hope to see many of you there!
