Last night our Lady Wolves Volleyball suffered a tough loss against Ben Franklin of Valparaiso. During the 7th grade game, Savayah played hard in the back row digging serves and hits! The score board may not habe showed it, but she remained tough! At the serving line, Chloe, A'naylah, and Harmony each gained an Ace to add a point to the scoreboard!
Our 8th grade also fought until the end! Audriana and Saniya worked hard serving, each putting up a couple of Aces! Miya got a big block at the net while Madison put up a wall herself for a block and turned around to end the play with a kill!
While the girls suffered a loss, they played hard and kept their composure and never let their teammates down! Their next game is Thursday on the road against Westchester!

🗞️ Monday Minute: September 21-25, 2026

💵 Tomorrow we will hold a Financial Aid Early Awareness event on Tuesday, September 22. All K-12 families are welcome.

🎤 Join us on Wednesday, September 23 at Edgewood Elementary School for MCAS Community Meeting #3 about the 2026 Operational Referendum. This is an opportunity to learn more about how Indiana school funding works, the impact of property tax caps on Michigan City Area Schools, and what the referendum would support.

📢 Saturday, September 16 is National School Parent Group Day. Thank you to all our Parent Teacher groups for everything you do for our schools!

"Last night our Lady Wolves traveled to LaPorte for a game of volleyball! Our 7th grade team fought hard and ended up falling to the Slicers in the 3rd set, but gave them a good fight! Anaylah put 6 points on the board to lead the team in Serving Aces! Harmony was strong at the net and put down two kills while Jade put up a wall for a big block!
Our 8th grade team didn't go down without a fight! While they took a loss, they had some great movement on the court! Ava led the team with 3 hard Aces to the Slicers to keep them on their toes. Miya, Stevie, Ava, and Mae all moved quick in front row to get some tough kills to the floor. While front row was moving, Elin moved quick to pick up 3 big digs with great passes! We also can't leave out Mae and Stevie working side by side to put up a wall of blocks!
The girls will open up next week with their Home opener on Monday! Come on out to cheer on our Lady Wolves!

Today, students in Ms. Vittatoe’s Social Studies class took a deeper look at the early explorers’ achievements, purposes, and the country that sponsored their voyage by playing ‘Guess Who’. They had an explorer on their back and had to ask specific yes/no questions to determine who they were. After that, they took part in a writing activity online. They had to write from the point of view of an explorer to try to convince the King/Queen to fund their voyage. The class voted on the anonymous entries until we were left with one sponsored voyage.

Volleyball Results:

"Last night, both volleyball teams brought home their first wins of the season!
For the 7th grade team, Maddie led the team with 7 Aces, while Kamiyah added 6 more herself! At the net, A'naylah had 2 kills while Maddie got a kill from backrow!
Our 8th grade team also had a great night of serving! Miya led the team with 7 Aces with Elin, Stevie, and Hazel all adding 3 themselves! Stevie led the 8th grade with 2 kills at the net! Ava, Gia, and Miya all also added a kill themselves to the scoreboard!
Our volleyball teams are on the road on Thursday at Kesling Middle School."
