Krueger is a safe school built on supportive relationships with students, staff, and families.

We value academic growth and achievement while developing the MCAS Habits of Character in a collaborative educational learning community. Social Media Community Standards:
Michigan City Area Schools uses social media to provide timely communication and to share the great things happening in the district on a daily basis. Pages are maintained and moderated by our Communications Team. We encourage civil and thoughtful dialogue about corporation matters on social media. MCAS will not remove social media comments simply because of disagreement with the school’s viewpoints and/or criticism of the corporation. However, we reserve the right to delete comments that contain:
Content that has nothing to do with the corporation or the post itself
Personal attacks on teachers, students, staff, or other users on the page
Foul language including comments that are inappropriate, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, threatening, or sexually explicit
“Trolling” (offensive or provocative comments with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting angry responses)
Spam or the intent to sell a product or service
Links to external sources that are not related to the corporation or the post itself
Copyrighted material
Political information or campaign materials

From little trick-or-treaters to haunted house thrill-seekers, this evening is packed with carnival games, treats, and spooktacular fun for all ages.

A huge thank you to the Michigan City Fire Department for visiting Mr. Labis’s Prep College and Careers class today! 🧑‍🚒🚒

Our students had an incredible time learning what it truly takes to serve our community. From breaking down entry requirements and walking us through a "day in the life" at the station, to mapping out the paths for rank advancement, our guest speakers offered invaluable real-world insight for our future leaders.

🚀 College & Career Connections are OFFICIALLY underway! 🚀

Today kicked off the first of MANY College & Career presentations in Mr. Labis’s PCC Class, and we couldn’t have asked for a better first guest speaker!

👏 Welcome, Marcus Walker! 👏

Marcus is a South Central High School graduate who went on to study Automotive Technology at A.K. Smith Career Center. Today, he works as a Maintenance & Preventive Maintenance (PM) Technician for Family Express, where he helps service their 91 stores! 🔧🛠️

But Marcus doesn’t stop there! When he’s not working, Marcus wears MANY hats! He is also a farmer on his family farm 🚜🌾, a Volunteer Firefighter with Noble Township Engine #1 🚒, and a Middle School & Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach at Morgan Township 🏀.

Marcus gave our students a firsthand look at what it takes to build a successful career and emphasized an important lesson that applies to EVERY career path:

Whether it’s school, a job, practice, farming, or any other responsibility, showing up on time and being someone others can count on matters!

🎨 Happy National Arts in Education Week! We celebrate the essential role arts plays in a well-rounded curriculum for our students.

💻 Tomorrow is National IT Professionals Day. Thank you to our IT staff that keep MCAS connected, online, and ready to learn every single day!

🚜 September 17 is , emphasizing the importance of agricultural education and the dedicated teachers who inspire the next generation of leaders in agriculture.

🇺🇸 September 17 is also Constitution Day, giving schools a special day to explore the historic document that shape democracy.

💵 SAVE THE DATE! We will hold a Financial Aid Early Awareness event on Tuesday, September 22. All K-12 families are welcome.

🎤 Join us on Wednesday, September 23 at Edgewood Elementary School for MCAS Community Meeting #3 about the 2026 Operational Referendum. This is an opportunity to learn more about how Indiana school funding works, the impact of property tax caps on Michigan City Area Schools, and what the referendum would support.

Friday was the first home football game of the season for MCHS — and a huge shoutout to 7 incredible Krueger students who made their first official marching band performance! 🎺🥁🎶

It’s a big deal for middle schoolers to join a high school activity, and this year’s Krueger reps showed up with talent, poise, and teamwork. Beyond being excellent musicians and performers, these are outstanding students, and we are proud they represent Krueger so well in the high school band. 🙌

We want to give a BIG shout-out to our Student Success Coach, Sue Harrison, for making student attendance a priority at Krueger Middle School! 💙🤍

Sue has been working hard to encourage our students to show up, be present, and make every school day count. We know that consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in student success, and we appreciate Sue’s dedication to helping our Wolves understand that every day matters!

Because when our students are here, they are learning, growing, building relationships, and creating their path toward success. 📚🐺
