Today was one of the hardest days I’ve had in a long time. I had to sit down with employees who have been with us for years and tell them there was no more work. I had conversations with parents and providers who trusted us, and I had to tell them they would need to look for another agency because we no longer had a way to guarantee continuity or support the services they depended on.
It’s been a painful and emotional day. After dedicating so many years to building teams, supporting people, and trying to create stability for families and providers, it’s incredibly frustrating to reach a point where there are no good answers left to give. The hardest part is knowing that behind every conversation there’s a person, a family, a future, and feeling powerless to fix it.
Still, I don’t believe the years were wasted. What we built mattered. The relationships, the opportunities, the support, the trust — all of it was real. And maybe that’s why days like today hurt so much.
Leadership is not only about growth and success. Sometimes it’s about carrying the weight of difficult decisions and showing up for people with honesty, compassion, and respect, even when the outcome breaks your heart. Today was one of those days.

Yes, Autism and ADHD are on the rise in the world, mainly in the US within the last 25 years.
Yes, some and very limited studies have shown a certain correlation between Tylenol use during pregnancy and autism development after birth...
But no definitive causation has been proven...
Therefore, it is misleading from the government to imply causation at that stage...
This is not how science works today; we cannot go back to these obsolete practices in the name of scientific evidence.
Politicians with rush and maybe bad intentions should not be able to use the scientific umbrella to promote non completely verified information. What if the final results prove otherwise??????
Leucovorin, a drug that was approved for another condition, is yet to be proven highly effective as treatment for Autism. However, while trials are still ongoing, and that the results look promising in some cases, people should be free to explore this option without giving them great expectations.
There is no political score in the scientific process. If we want people to trust the scientific findings, then we should wait until we are certain about them to promote them, although we share the painful situation that parents are going through with their beloved children.
What do we know for sure?
"We know that Developmental Disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, are multifactorial" said Dr. Steven J. Fleischman, the president of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Autism is a developmental condition. No scientific research has ever suggested that it is preventable. Health Secretary JFK's today statement is irresponsible and misleading, sadly!
