FIU's Project on Language and Spatial Development

We are recruiting children 4 years of age (-/+ 2 months) and 5 years of age (-/+ 2 months) to participate in an Attention and Learning in Early Childhood Study. It is an online study so that you and your child can participate from the comfort of home. The study involves two study sessions. Each will last for approximately one hour and will be scheduled within one week apart. Must have access to a computer with a camera and zoom to participate.

In the first session, your child will watch a couple videos of women talk and complete a vocabulary game. In the second session, you and your child will complete a 10-min interaction and your child will complete two short games. We also ask you to complete a background questionnaire and questionnaires about your child behavior. You will be compensated for $20 target gift card for the 1st session and $30 target gift card for the 2nd session.

The Department of Psychology at Florida International University is currently conducting a study on the brain and spatial abilities in young children (ages 4-6) who've never been diagnosed with a mental or behavioral disorder. Participants will spend about 30 minutes to an hour completing an MRI brain scan and an hour and half completing learning and spatial memory tasks. Families will receive $75 and a small toy for their child's participation in the study.
