Florida International University's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), provides psychological services to currently registered FIU students. Because registered students pay the Student Health Fee, there is no charge for therapy, consultation or psychoeducational services. The Counseling Center is staffed with full-time licensed psychologists, part-time psychiatrists, a post-doctoral fellow, pre-doctoral interns, post-masters interns, and practicum students. FIU CAPS Victim Empowerment Program

The FIU Victim Empowerment Program is a program within FIU CAPS. FIU VEP is dedicated to providing free and confidential services to students who have experienced trauma due to actual or threatened violence. Advocates can assist students who may have experienced sexual assault, stalking, relationship abuse and other victimizations. Services are based on students needs. A police report is never required.
