The L.E.A.D. (Leadership Education and Development) Workshop Series is an opportunity for students, student organizations,
faculty, staff and community members, whom are seeking to develop their personal and professional skills,
a space to share best practices, and tools for social change.
Participate in 3 workshops in a semester and you will receive a recognition certificate.
Maria Alexandra Sanchez is a marketing, communications and business development professional working in higher education with combined experience in public relations, training and leadership development, social media, customer relations management, recruitment, business development and community outreach.
She currently works as a Consulting Advisor to Zambrano Foundation, and as Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment at Kellogg School of Management's Executive MBA program in Northwestern University's campus in Miami, Florida.
Ms. Sanchez is a passionate advocate for education in communication and leadership development, and serves a professional trainer and motivational speaker for community organizations through Toastmasters International and MASSI Solutions LLC. As an experienced trainer and public speaker, Ms. Sanchez has effectively engaged diverse audiences of over 400 people in seminars and workshops.
She has proudly served in leadership roles in various community organizations, such as Miramar Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce, PACE Center for Girls, Toastmasters International, Hispanic Unity of Florida, Mujeres Latinas Impulsando Mujeres Latinas, PRSA Miami, FIU PRSSA and Association of Women in Communication – South Florida, among others.
As a community leader, Ms. Sanchez has been recognized as Pinnacle Award recipient at the Miramar Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2014, she was inducted in 2013 into Broward College’s Alumni Hall of Distinction and was awarded a prestigious recognition for her Community Service in South Florida, and presented with a Certificate of Merit from the Broward County Commissioners and Americas Community Center for her service as a Venezuelan community leader in 2010.
She holds an MBA in Strategic Management & Leadership from Ana G. Mendez University System, a BS in Communications and Marketing from Florida International University, and an AA in Mass Communications from Broward College. She is currently pursuing a second Master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from Northwestern University's Medill School of Communication.

Thank you to all of the facilitators and participants. This was the first semester of us hosting the LEAD Workshop Series in an SLS class and it was a success thanks to our two participating faculty members: Professor Dean-Allen and Professor Countin.
