We are a group of graduate students from the Marine Geology and Geophysics department, with interests ranging from education and outreach, field trips, career development and geological fun. Officers of the University of Miami Hurricanes Student Chapter of AAPG participated in "Women in Science" Day at the RSMAS Campus. This is a program where young girls are given the opportunity to interact with other female scientists to inspire them to build a future career in the STEM fields! Officers include Ph.D. and M.Sc. Students: Kimberly C. Galvez (Vice President), Anna Ling (Treasurer), Sara Bashah (Secretary) and Mingyue Wu.
We thank the CSL - Center for Carbonate Research for providing the necessary materials and resources for this to take place.

Come join fellow students in a short course titled "Sedimentology and Sequence Stratigraphy of the Marginal Marine Clastics" in the Book Cliffs, Utah USA May 16-18 (the weekend before AAPG 2018)! Applied Stratigraphix will be the field trip leader during this field trip!
