The Gordon Flower Shop is OPEN! ๐ธ๐ผ Art teacher Kara brought our students' work to life with an interactive installation inspired by A Line Florist at the MOMA. Stop by, pick a bouquet, color it in, and give it to someone who could use a little brightness. Students, staff, and the whole community are invited to participate. This is what art can do. ๐ท

Our Gordon students brought their stories to life at this year's Publishing Party! ๐๐ The journey to this moment is no small feat. Students learn what it truly means to be a writer: to think creatively, to persevere through edits, and to find their voice on the page. Then comes the moment they've been working toward, standing up in front of family and friends to present their very own published book. The pride in that room was absolutely electric. Congratulations to every young author who showed up, wrote boldly, and shared their story with the world. We cannot wait to see what you write next. ๐โ๏ธ

To prepare for the holiday of Shavuot , our ECC students spent their morning crafting their very own flower crowns. Tradition tells us that when the Torah was given at Mount Sinai, the desert mountain miraculously burst into bloom with lush greenery and fragrant flowers. To celebrate this โbloomingโ of wisdom and the spring harvest, it is a beautiful Shavuot tradition to decorate our homes (and ourselves!) with flowers.

Student-Designed Mathematical Escape Room
Our enrichment group in the Academic Coaching Program transformed advanced mathematical thinking into a fully interactive escape room.
Students focused on problem solving, logical reasoning, and mathematical puzzles. Working in teams, they designed different rooms, created storylines, and developed connected challenges that encouraged teamwork and critical thinking.
Throughout the project, students strengthened their collaboration, communication, persistence, and reasoning skills while learning to explain and refine their thinking.
During our pilot week, teachers and staff tested the escape room, and students used feedback to improve the experience even further.
The result was a fun, creative, and engaging way to bring mathematics to life through teamwork and problem solving!

A huge thank you to Joyce and Gabriela for leading such a thoughtful, inspiring, and engaging morning all about process art! ๐จโจ
From creativity and curiosity to child-led exploration, your passion for process-focused learning was felt throughout the room. We loved diving deeper into how meaningful art experiences support problem-solving, self-expression, confidence, and joyful learning in our classrooms every day.

At Tikvah, learning goes far beyond academics
While we work hard to help our students grow in reading, writing, and math, we also focus on important life skills that build independence and confidence every single day. From practicing social skills to learning how to safely cross the street, our students are gaining real-world skills that will support them both inside and outside of the classroom.

The ECC children connected to Lag BโOmer in a meaningful, hands-on wayโbuilding a pretend bonfire with natural materials, gathering for a shared story, and enjoying sโmores together. Through play, storytelling, and community, the holiday came to life in a way they could truly experience.
