Our Alexander Montessori School family came together to honor the amazing moms and VIPs in our lives — and what better way than with an art show created by little hands and big hearts? 💕

From colorful masterpieces to proud little artists showing their special someone around the gallery, the joy was everywhere. Every creation was made with so much love — and a whole lot of heart.

🎩💛 Hats On for Childhood Cancer Awareness 2026! 💛🎩

Today our Alexander Montessori School community once again came together for Hats On Day, filling our campus with creativity, color, and compassion. Students and staff proudly wore their favorite hats to stand in support of children bravely battling cancer.

💛 With the continued generosity of our families, we raised funds for the Live Like Bella Foundation, an organization dedicated to advancing pediatric cancer research and providing vital support for families during treatment and beyond.

Hats On Day is more than a fun tradition—it’s a meaningful reminder of the strength of community and the power we have when we come together for a cause that truly matters.

Thank you to everyone who wore a hat, donated, and helped us spread awareness. Together, we continue to make a difference. 💛

Dear Alexander Montessori School Community:

Please accept this note of thanks to all of you who have reached out to us after the loss of our dear Beverley. Thank you for having our family in your prayers during this difficult time. Beverley was laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Jim McGhee, in Pollard, Arkansas. The private service was attended by the immediate family.

Beverley has loved and inspired so many of us personally and professionally. There is no venue that could possibly hold all of the lives she has touched, and by which she has been touched. As we shared with you, a Celebration of Life mass with Eucharist will take place on Beverley’s birthday, Saturday, February 28th, at 1:00 PM. In accordance with Beverley’s wishes, the mass will take place at the church she loved and attended for over 60 years, St. Matthew the Apostle Episcopal Church, located at 7410 Sunset Drive in Miami.

St. Matthew holds about 290 people in the Sanctuary. We can accommodate about 130 additional attendees in the Parish Hall, where the service will be streamed live onto a video screen. We will have fellowship and light refreshments in the Parish Hall following the service.

As we have each year, we will invite students and parents to take part in the Beverley McGhee Appreciation Day Assembly in April. Details will be announced to the school community in April. This year, that tradition will be bittersweet for us, and especially meaningful.

Those of you who knew Beverley, know how much she loved to celebrate. The annual Alexander Parents Association Dinner Dance was always a highlight for Bev and our family. This year’s celebration will take place on Saturday, May 2nd (details to be announced), and we hope to see many of you there where we will surely raise a glass to toast our dear Beverley, who will always be in our hearts.

A visionary and pioneer in Montessori education, Mrs. McGhee dedicated her life to honoring the child and nurturing a lifelong love of learning. A steadfast leader with an unwavering spirit, she believed deeply in the potential of every child and worked tirelessly to create environments where curiosity, independence, and purpose could flourish. Her influence helped shape Montessori education in South Florida and continues to resonate through the values of Alexander Montessori today.

We are forever grateful for the enduring impact she leaves behind—rooted in her belief that children deserve to learn to love to learn. Her presence lives on in every prepared environment, in the confidence and joy of each learner, and in the educators and families whose lives she so profoundly shaped.
