Closing the Opportunity Divide

Year Up is a national nonprofit organization working for economic justice. It is estimated that there are over five million young adults in the U.S. disconnected from stable career pathways. These young adults have the drive to reach their full potential, but lack access to the resources enabling them to do so. Approximately 70,000 disconnected young adults live in Greater Miami. On the other side of the Opportunity Divide are Fortune 1000 companies, which will have an estimated 12 million jobs nationally to fill in the next decade (270,000 jobs locally).

Founded in 2000 in Boston by current CEO Gerald Chertavian, Year Up has served more than 28,000 students across the country, including nearly 800 talented young adults in South Florida.
