Mr. Reyes was sworn in as Miami’s City Manager in January 2026 and brings extensive experience in public safety, operations, and government leadership. Before assuming his current role, he served as Miami-Dade County’s Chief of Public Safety and spent more than two decades with the Broward Sheriff’s Office in executive leadership positions.

His experience leading complex public sector organizations and overseeing critical city operations provides valuable insight into the future of infrastructure, urban development, and community growth across South Florida.

Mayor Higgins brings a strong background in public leadership, infrastructure, transportation, and community development. Before being elected Mayor of Miami, she served as Miami-Dade County Commissioner for District 5, where she led initiatives focused on housing affordability, resiliency, transit improvements, and economic growth throughout the region.
