Sonia Hidalgo Art In this context, art students are encouraged to develop their own voice and approaches to art, as well as a unique visual language.

I work at Miami International Fine Arts/Director and instructor of MIFA Mixed Media Program, offers Mixed Media classes/Portfolio Prep and Young creative programs for young artists/ adults workshops/ Open Studio Program/ Advanced Mxm program/Demo events. MIFA Contemporary (formerly Art Florida Academy - My Art Ventures LLC - Romero Hidalgo Artists’ Studios), provides a dynamic mixture of media, cr

aft and aesthetic viewpoints that expose students to a variety of concepts about modern and contemporary art. In a globally influenced, culturally diverse, and technologically advancing world, contemporary artists give voice to the varied and changing cultural landscape of identities, values, and beliefs. We combine studio practice with art historical, visual studies and discussions by a series of theory-practice classes that cover different forms of expression from Impressionism art to the present. Technical approach: Mixed Media
This class investigates a variety of art making technical applications that challenge form and content, taking the traditional and new materials combined as a base. Students as individuals will adopt these ideas and methods for their own work, continuing the development of formal and technical skills in relation to a personal evolution. History on contemporary materials precedents will be introduced as part of the full program. STUDIO PROGRAM

This program combines art foundation instruction with individual development. It is designed for students who would like to learn and experiment mixed media techniques while developing a comprehensive personal art work of their own. Students in this class have a choice of oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, collage, charcoal, pencil and much more. Instruction focuses on observational drawing, color theory-practice, the elements of design, and other technical skills working from photo references. Students are given feedback that will allow them to develop visual problem-solving, critical thinking and conceptual development. Students in this class work on individual projects and often choose to develop an autonomous body of work. The Portfolio Prep and Young Creative programs are dedicated to teach young artists from beginning, intermediate and advanced fine art drawing and painting classes to children and teens in Miami. We offer classes and workshops for students from 5th grade to 12th grade. Young artists are taught by professional artists in a real art studio, taking into account personal interests and special needs. We offer portfolio prep classes, spring break/summer camp and workshops. We devoted ourselves to developing a curriculum that would enable our students to learn how to approach drawing, painting, and different techniques from a skill level which is in turn helping them develop a sense of self-confidence and pride in their artwork. SACRED INSTINCT
April 18 – May 9

I want to share the news I will be exhibiting my piece “The Labyrinth” at Mundo Arte Gallery, a group exhibition featuring works by Jason Aponte, Ivonne Ferrer, Sonia Hidalgo, Kadja, Yusimy Larra, and Rocard Mo. On view from April 18 through May 9, the exhibition explores the complex relationship between instinct and spirituality in contemporary artistic practice.

“The title of the exhibition reflects a fundamental question about the human condition: what distinguishes human instinct from animal impulse? While instinct connects us to our most primal nature, spirituality opens the possibility of reflection, awareness, and meaning. In the space between these two forces, human identity begins to take shape.

Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media, the artists in Sacred Instinct investigate this tension from diverse symbolic and emotional perspectives. Their works move between the visceral and the contemplative, revealing how desire, ritual, vulnerability, and imagination shape our understanding of what it means to be human.

The exhibition draws inspiration from an idea expressed by Fernando Fernández: “the man who does not integrate the spiritual into his instinct is simply an animal.” From this perspective, Sacred Instinct proposes that humanity lies not in the denial of instinct but in the capacity to transform it through consciousness, creativity, and spiritual awareness.

By bringing together distinct artistic languages, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the fragile balance between the sacred and the instinctual, between the body and the inner life that gives it meaning.”
