Messaggio di solidarietà alla Prefettura di Kumamoto

Con profonda commozione ho appreso la notizia del violento terremoto che ha colpito la Prefettura di Kumamoto, nell'isola di Kyushu, causando sofferenza alla popolazione e gravi danni al territorio.

Per me Kumamoto non è soltanto un luogo del Giappone: è una seconda casa. Dal 1981 ho avuto l'onore di recarmi in questa terra in numerose occasioni, partecipando a competizioni, stage e momenti di crescita culturale e marziale. Qui sono sempre stato accolto con affetto, rispetto e amicizia.

Kumamoto è la terra del mio indimenticabile Maestro, il Gran Maestro Iwao Yoshioka, che ha guidato il mio cammino nelle arti marziali e nella vita. È anche il luogo dove ho formato il mio spirito, i miei valori e la mia visione del Karate-Do.

A nome mio personale e della Yoshioka Ryu Academy, desidero esprimere la più sincera vicinanza e la più profonda solidarietà al popolo giapponese e, in particolare, a tutti i cittadini di Kumamoto.

Con il cuore rivolto a voi, prego affinché possiate ritrovare al più presto forza, speranza e serenità. Sono certo che il coraggio e la dignità che da sempre contraddistinguono il popolo giapponese sapranno guidare la rinascita di questa amata terra.

Message of Solidarity to the People of Kumamoto

It is with profound sorrow that I learned of the devastating earthquake that struck Kumamoto Prefecture, on the island of Kyushu, causing suffering to its people and severe damage to its communities and infrastructure.

To me, Kumamoto is far more than a place in Japan—it is a second home. Since 1981, I have had the honor of visiting this land many times for martial arts competitions, seminars, and cultural exchanges. Everywhere I went, I was welcomed with warmth, respect, and friendship.

Kumamoto is also the home of my beloved Master, Grand Master Iwao Yoshioka, whose teachings shaped my journey not only as a martial artist but also as a human being. It is the place where I developed my spirit, my values, and my understanding of the true meaning of Karate-Do.

On behalf of myself and the Yoshioka Ryu Academy, I wish to express my deepest sympathy and heartfelt solidarity with the people of Kumamoto and with all the people of Japan.

I sincerely pray that you will find the strength, courage, and hope to overcome this difficult time and rebuild your beautiful land. The resilience and dignity of the Japanese people have always been an inspiration to the world, and I am confident that Kumamoto will rise again.

熊本県の皆様へ

このたび、熊本県を襲った地震により、多くの尊い命が脅かされ、人々の暮らしや街が大きな被害を受けたとの報に接し、深い悲しみと心からのお見舞いを申し上げます。

私にとって熊本は、単なる土地ではありません。1981年より幾度となく訪れ、武道大会や稽古、文化交流を通じて、多くの温かい友情と学びをいただいた、第二の故郷です。

そして熊本は、私の恩師であり、敬愛する岩男吉岡先生が生涯を過ごされた大切な地です。私はこの地で、武道家としてだけでなく、一人の人間としての生き方と精神を学びました。

私、そして吉岡流アカデミーを代表し、熊本県の皆様に心からの連帯とお見舞いを申し上げます。

日本の皆様が持つ強い精神、勇気、そして助け合いの心が、この困難を乗り越え、一日も早い復興へとつながることを心よりお祈り申し上げます。

私たちの祈りは、いつも皆様とともにあります。
