SBC Community Development Corporation (SBC CDC) is a non-profit corporation located in the heart of the Richmond Heights community. The mission of SBC CDC is to build a solid community through collaborative efforts and partnerships that provide programs and services that address the intergenerational needs of the community. SBC CDC began serving the heart of the Richmond Heights community in 2003
under the vision of the late Rev. Ferguson, founder of Second Baptist Church. Rev. Ferguson envisioned building senior housing, providing food and educational services for the community of Richmond Heights. This vision has grown under the leadership of President, Rev. Alphonso Jackson, Sr. SBC CDC has developed four components to bring Rev. Ferguson's vision to pass. The mission consists of four components: human services, educational services, youth services, and community development. Twila Payne, serves as the Chairwoman of the SBC CDC board - charged to bring these services to life.

There are four key programs that will aid and service the community. The SBC CDC continues to build and serve the Richmond Heights community in the following areas:
HUMAN SERVICES
This program is set to develop Senior Citizen Residential Apartments which will encompass programs that will address the needs of this niche demographic. This project will include the construction of modern, affordable, and independent housing for Senior Citizens. This development is a joint venture with Cornerstone Group Development Corporation and is financed in-part with Miami-Dade County. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
The program is set to develop a Family Life Center which is a new-age construction project. This facility will house several programs and activities that cater to the needs of families, adults, teens, and youth. EDUCATIONAL SERVICES
This program is a platform set to encourage academic excellence as well as assist adults, teens, and youth to achieve success in their academic endeavors. The goal is to provide stellar services that will assure that all who participate will obtain a successful academic foundation. YOUTH SERVICES
The purpose of this component is to pour into our youth a new mindset on living. The focus is to encourage the youth to strive for a lifestyle of excellence through educational enrichment, cultural arts, and recreation. Both Educational & Youth Services serve under SBC Youth Zone. A division created to serve families, while sharing Christ.
