🇨🇭 A taste of Switzerland at PTS!

This week, students in Madame Dubovik’s French Discovery and AP French classes welcomed Mr. Ellek, parent of sixth grader Monica Ellek, to share his experiences growing up and studying in Switzerland.

Students explored Swiss language, culture, traditions, history, and global influence, with our AP French students putting their skills into practice through a conversation conducted entirely in French. 🇫🇷

And, of course, no trip to Switzerland would be complete without some authentic Swiss chocolate! 🍫

Thank you, Mr. Ellek, for helping bring the Francophone world to life for our students! 💙💛

Last week, our 6th and 7th grade students welcomed New York Times bestselling and two-time Eisner Award-winning author and illustrator Hope Larson to PTS! 📚✏️

Hope introduced students to her latest graphic novel, Very Far From Home, shared her creative writing and storytelling process, and brought it all to life with an interactive drawing demonstration.

A special opportunity for our students to see firsthand how ideas, art, and storytelling come together! 💙💛

Earlier this month, we completed our PTS Community Service Speaker Series, connecting students in every grade with local nonprofit organizations making a difference throughout our community. 💙💛

Students learned about the work of each organization, ways they can get involved, and how they can make a meaningful impact throughout the year. Now, each grade will collaborate with its partner organization to develop service projects centered around a specific area of need:

💙 Middle School: Empowering Families with
🌎 Freshmen: Stewards of Our Planet with
📚 Sophomores: Equitable Education with
🏠 Juniors: Tackling Homelessness with
🤝 Seniors: Promoting Inclusion with and

We can’t wait to see our students turn what they’ve learned into action and make a lasting impact in our community.

To all in our Palmer Trinity community observing Yom Kippur, we wish you a meaningful day of reflection, renewal, and peace.

May this sacred time bring forgiveness, understanding, and a renewed sense of purpose. May those who fast have an easy and meaningful fast, and may the year ahead be filled with peace, health, and blessings.

At Palmer Trinity, Hispanic heritage is more than a month. It’s part of who we are. 💙💛
From the languages we speak and the traditions we share to our classrooms, global experiences, International Festival, and everyday life on campus, the richness of Hispanic culture can be felt throughout our community. 🌎✨

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, we honor the generations of Hispanic and Latino individuals whose cultures, stories, achievements, and contributions have helped shape our communities and our world.

This month and all year long, we’re proud to celebrate the cultures and traditions that make our Palmer Trinity community so special.

College reps are coming to PTS next week!

Senior Falcons, this is a great opportunity to connect directly with representatives from schools you may be interested in applying to. College rep visits give you a chance to ask questions, learn more about programs and campus life, and make a personal connection with the colleges on your list.

Upcoming visits include:

September 14 — Furman University, Smith College
September 15 — Florida International University, Carnegie Mellon University, Florida Polytechnic University
September 16 — IE University
September 17 — Syracuse University
September 18 — University of Maryland

Students must sign up for visits through their SCOIR account.

Important reminder: after signing up, students must pick up their pass from the College Advising Office at least one day before the visit.

Passes must be presented to teachers ahead of time, not on the day of the visit, for approval. Students will not be allowed to attend without a teacher-signed pass.

Take advantage of these visits, Falcons. Show up prepared, ask thoughtful questions, and use this opportunity to learn more about the colleges you are considering.

Visits are subject to change. Please check SCOIR for the most up-to-date information.
