We are so proud of our small yet mighty Miami-Dade Urban Debate League! Trust, a newsletter is coming soon about our many feats even in the midst of the pandemic, hurricane season challenges, and several tumultuous circumstances. We’ve had students make it to elimination rounds at National tournaments, receive life changing internships and a plethora of scholarships and awesome opportunities are afoot.

TODAY on this FIERCE FRIDAY, we want to recognize Ashley Adrika and her former coach Bess Rodriguez, for their tenacity and belief in the activity of academic debate! Ashley you inspired us all, and to think that Speech and Debate had even a small role in how incredible you are, humbles us!

‘Surreal’: Miami Beach High grad accepted to all eight Ivies. Credits speech & debate team Attending an Ivy League college was always a dream for Ashley Adirika. So after a conversation with a friend who encouraged her to “shoot her shot,” she applied to all eight.

We love our alum! Natty is an incredible alumna of Miami Jackson and we are so proud of the work she continues to do in debate and in advocacy. Woohoo!
