Here are some photos from the field seminar organized by the CSL-Center for Carbonate Research after the Annual Review Meeting.
The seminar focuses on the complex stratigraphy and diagenesis of platform margin grainstone successions around the New Providence and Eleuthera Islands, which are situated on the most windward margin of the Great Bahama Bank.
One of the highlights of the seminar was a visit to Schooner Cays, where the group explored ooids and stromatolites that were first discovered by Jeff Dravis in 1979.

Last weekend’s two-day SEPM event on the Advances in the Understanding and Interpretation of Carbonates before the IMAGE meeting at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, was a tremendous success!
The conference featured a distinguished lineup of 21 speakers and 20 poster presentations covering the four key themes in carbonate research.
The CSL - Center for Carbonate Research contributed with well-received presentations by Gregor Eberli, Sara Bashah, Sam Purkis, and Peter Swart and the posters presented by Haiwei Xi and Cecilia Lopez-Gamundi. They all showcased innovative research in the field of carbonates. The event was truly enlightening, bringing together experts in the field to share knowledge and explore the latest advancements in carbonate research.
