Class of '81's finest! Congratulations Major General Ribas.

Ralph Ribas, '81 was recently promoted to the rank of Major General U.S. Army and assigned as the Director, Mobilization and Reserve Affairs for United States Southern Command. He was commissioned an Infantry officer through the University of Miami Army ROTC program in 1987. He has served in various leadership, key command, and operational assignments and is a veteran of two overseas deployments. During Hurricane’s Matthew (2016), Irma (2017), and Michael (2018), he was nominated by the Governor and appointed by the Secretary of Defense to serve as the overall military commander for hurricane response operations within Florida. He and his wife Elaine, live in Pembroke Pines, Florida and have two children.

What a super two nights with friends. We had around 60 guys at Bougainvilleas's and close to 100 people including guests at the Dream for dinner and dancing. Freddy Valdarama!
