The GLA is hosting our 4th and final event for the semester! It'll be on Thursday, April 14th at 2 PM in CASE 145. Our guest speaker Chintan Sonawane will be talking about Multilingualism and Its Advantages. There will be food!

On Tuesday, September 24th, the Linguistics department's very own Dr. Phillip Carter will be hosting the inaugural event of the Center for Humanities in an Urban Environment, a screening of the documentary film, “Talking Black in America."

Come to the GC Pit at 5:00 for an opening reception, where you can speak directly with linguists Walt Wolfram and Renee Blake. The screening will start at 6:00 PM in GC 140. The event is free and open to the public, so we hope to see you there!

This is a wonderful article about this year's Barbara Gordon Memorial Lecture Series! A big thanks to all who came out, especially our guest speaker Dr. Lisa Green!!

This year, the FIU English Department hosted its annual Barbara Gordon Memorial Lecture Series, bringing in students, faculty, and staff for a keynote address on current research in Linguistics.
