It’s never too late to follow your dreams!! 🎆

I spent the first half of my life focused on going to school, becoming a lawyer, raising three sons and caring for my aging parents. 👩‍🦳 👨‍🦳

All that time, I would draw abstract images whenever I had a pen and piece of paper in front of me, never thinking that these “doodles” would become a second career for me!🖊

Well into the second half of my life, I transformed my drawings into pieces of artwork, and in the past 2 years have exhibited my art in London, Madrid, Innsbruck, New York and Miami.🎨

And tonight, I will attend the Opening Reception for the “Outside of the Box” exhibition at the Agora Gallery in New York, where 5 of my pieces will be exhibited.🖼

🙏I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful career I have had as a lawyer. I’ve had so many amazing opportunities, I’ve learned so much and I’ve worked with so many fabulous people.

⚖️But, I knew that being a lawyer was not my sole identity. In fact, being a mother to my 3 sons has been my most important identity.❤️

📆When my sons grew up and out of the house, my calendar was empty, except for my law job. It was as if the multiple tabs that I always have open on my computer (can you relate?) had links which had expired. 🔗

🤔So, rather than close all of these tabs and shut down my computer, I decided it was time to take advantage of the free time and reinvent myself.

💪🔋I thought about all that I had already done in my life, all that I had overcome, and all of the fears that I had faced down and realized that surviving and thriving had become my super power.

🎨So, well into my second half I turned my lifelong habit of doodling into an abstract art career, and have exhibited in galleries in London, Madrid, New York and Miami.

🥰Realizing that doubt can stop you from pursuing your dreams, I decided to help women at the midpoint of life be undaunted in the pursuit of what gives their life meaning, purpose and joy.

You are probably wondering why I’m sitting in front of my bed🤔🛌 Because it changed my life!😊

If you are feeling lost in the midst of the midlife struggle, and don’t know what to do or how to start moving forward, begin by making your bed!👍

Making your bed each morning sets a positive tone for the day and gives you a sense of accomplishment. As former Navy Seal William McRaven says in his fabulous book, “Make Your Bed,” it sets a positive tone, giving you a small but tangible victory that can serve as a foundation for productivity and motivation throughout the day.🙌🏆

Once I started making my bed every morning, I was able to start planning the rest of my life ✅
