Dolphin Research Center (DRC) currently has a full-time opening for a Medical Department Assistant. DRC is a not-for-profit education and research facility dedicated to teaching, learning, and caring about marine mammals and the environment we share.

Position Responsibilities:
Assist with routine health assessments, physical exams, and medical procedures.
Prepare and maintain medical equipment, instruments, and treatment areas.
Support diagnostic procedures, including sample collection (blood, urine, f***l), radiographs, and laboratory processing. 
Assist with emergency response and critical care situations.
Assist with routine health assessments, physical exams, and medical procedures.

Assist with emergency response and critical care situations.
Collaborate with the Habitat & Conservation Medical Technician in supporting water quality monitoring and biosecurity protocols.
Assist with medical support for rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation initiatives.
Help maintain sanitary standards in animal habitats and medical spaces.
Assist with habitat maintenance.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
Assist with inventory tracking and ordering of medical supplies.
Ensure compliance with USDA, state, and organizational standards.
Communicate effectively with medical, animal care, and research staff.
Participate in training sessions and continuing education.
Support educational programming when appropriate, representing the veterinary department professionally.

Earlier this year, Dolphin Research Center was approached by a show called AnimalZone to film about the work we do at Dolphin Research Center. In this particular episode filmed at DRC, there was a focus on Tanner and our research! This episode of AnimalZone was broadcasted at the end of February and was entered in at the Paris International Short Festival and the Berlin Indie Awards where it ended up being a Semi-Finalist in both!
