We have a July 3rd teacher birthday twin! Happy Birthday to one of our awesome 2nd grade teachers, Ms. Singh! We hope you have an awesome day and are enjoying your summer break!

Fun Fact: When Ms. Singh was a child, she wanted to be a firefighter when she grew up.

Happy Birthday to one of our awesome Kindergarten teachers, Ms. Fadhel! Wishing you a beautiful day and lots of fireworks (tomorrow) in celebration of it!

Fun Fact: Ms. Fadhel is also our before and aftercare manager 🎉

So proud of our school district and especially proud of our school! outperformed the state in all assessed areas for the Spring FAST tests.🎉

Our pride with this tremendous accomplishment is even greater because Calusa, as in previous years, was ranked in the top scoring schools in our district. 💙💛

Way to go Calusa Cuties! We are very proud of you all! We are also incredibly proud and grateful to our incredible teachers for guiding our students to do their very best!

Thank you to our wonderful parents for all the hard work you do at home and for trusting Miami Dade County Public and Calusa be such an important part of your lives! Another amazing year in the books and we are so excited to get the next one started!

Happy Social Media Day!  Technology, including social media, is an amazing advance in our society, including positive impact on things like:

😊 Staying connected with family and friends.

😊 Ability to network with a wider variety of people.

😊 Enhancing creativity by viewing and sharing ideas, music, and art.

😊 Having a vast amount of information at your fingertips.

😊 Gets people involved in different activities and causes to help their community.

😊 Keeps people connected to awesome schools like Calusa that share positive and useful information that is not just useful to our community but uplifting and useful to anyone 💙💛

That's just to name a few.... and while there are good things, there are also potentially harmful and questionable activities.  As our kids get older and join the vast Social Media world, it's important to discuss with them social media responsibility, as well as talk about the possible negative things that can be experienced on Social Media.

Another great way to avoid "Summer Slide" is having your kiddos sign in to their optional preassigned iReady lessons.

These lessons will help keep their minds fresh and ready for the next grade in August!

* Log in to the Student Portal
* Go in through Schoology
* Click Course on the top
* Click My Course on the right hand side
* Click Archived tab
* Click Homeroom and they will find their iReady link there.
