Itās easy to blame student disengagement on lack of discipline, low motivation, or poor attitudes.
But Iāve seen and studied that itās often rooted in something much deeperāstudents who feel disconnected, who donāt see the relevance in what theyāre learning, or who lack the support they need to thrive. I felt a deep shift in my teaching when I started focusing on building real connections and creating an environment where students felt understood and valued. Thatās when true engagement began.
I feel strongly that itās not just about what we teach, but how we make students feel in the classroom.
