🎓 Chinese Credentials in the U.S.: How Your Education May Be Evaluated
For students and professionals educated in the People’s Republic of China, understanding U.S. degree equivalency can be essential for academic admission, employment, immigration, or professional licensing in the United States.
Below is a general overview of how selected Chinese academic credentials may compare in the U.S. education system:
Senior Middle School Graduation Certificate — equivalent to a U.S. High School Diploma.
Junior College Diploma — equivalent to a U.S. Associate Degree.
Bachelor’s Degree, 4-year program — equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s Degree.
Master’s Degree — equivalent to a U.S. Master’s Degree.
Doctorate / Doctor of Science — equivalent to a U.S. Ph.D.
📄 Important:To determine the U.S. equivalency of a completed credential, an official diploma, certificate, or proof of graduation should be submitted together with the academic transcript or record.
If the program was not completed, the coursework may be evaluated as undergraduate or graduate study, depending on the program level, academic records, and documents submitted.
Every evaluation is based on:
✔ the institution attended✔ the program completed✔ the documents submitted
