10 YEARS OF MS. SUSAN…..
As we celebrate 10 years of Little Innovators, there is one person we simply could not celebrate this milestone without. Ms. Susan was there on Day One.
Ten years ago, when we opened our doors for the very first time, Ms. Susan walked through them as one of our first teachers. She had come to America from Jamaica, ready to work hard and build a life for herself and her daughter.
And work hard she did. It didn’t take long for us to see something incredibly special in her. She took on more responsibility, stepped up whenever she was needed, and continued to grow as a teacher and as a leader and eventually became our Assistant Director.
But a title could never adequately describe what Ms. Susan means to this school. She is sewn into every detail. She is part of the very fabric of Little Innovators.
For 10 years, she has poured her heart into this school. She has loved our children, supported our parents, led our teachers, solved problems, celebrated victories, carried burdens, and worked tirelessly to help Little Innovators become what it is today. And while she was helping us build this school, we had the privilege of watching her build an incredible life of her own.
She bought her own home. She put her daughter through college and herself! She created a beautiful life in America through determination, sacrifice, faith, and an extraordinary work ethic. She later found love and married, and today her life stretches between the two places she calls home, America and Jamaica. We could not be more proud of her.
Ms. Susan is an incredible leader, but more importantly, she is an incredible human being. She genuinely cares about the people around her. There is no version of the Little Innovators story that can be told without Ms. Susan in it. Her fingerprints are everywhere. Her love, sacrifice, leadership, and dedication are woven permanently into who we are.
Ms. Susan, thank you for believing in this school before there was much of a school to believe in. Thank you for growing alongside us. Thank you for giving us 10 years of your life, your heart, and your very best.
