Meet our 2026 Light Bearer Honoree

David Lawrence Jr. — Founder and Board Chair of The Children’s Movement of Florida.

A lifelong advocate for children and families, David Lawrence Jr. has dedicated decades to advancing early childhood education, opportunity, and policies that help children thrive. BEHIND THE SCENE: A NIGHT IN THEIR LEARNING WORLD 📚✨

What does a day of learning look like through your child’s eyes?

At Curriculum Night, our parents stepped into the classroom, explored Montessori materials, joined hands-on activities, and experienced the spaces where their children learn, grow, and discover every day.

From classroom connections to a valuable financial literacy presentation from EdFed, it was an evening centered on learning, family, and community.

This is what partnership looks like.

What better way to understand a child’s learning journey than to experience it for yourself?

During Curriculum Night, our TLPA parents stepped into their children’s classrooms, explored the learning environment, engaged with materials, and got a closer look at the experiences that make each classroom unique.

It was an evening of connection, discovery, and learning together—because when families understand the learning experience, they become an even stronger part of their child’s journey.

LOOK: PARENT NIGHT 2026 ✨

A night of connection, conversation, and community.

Our TLPA families came together for Parent Night on September 28—creating space to connect with our school team, stay informed, ask questions, and continue building the partnership that supports our students.

Thank you to all the parents and families who showed up and shared in the evening with us. Your presence and partnership matter.
