It is the end of the school year, and the AACE students have just “aced” their standardized tests. At the end of each school year, our students take Stanford Achievement Tests, or SATs. This year, SAT results exceeded their teachers’ and parents’ expectations. Some of them even managed to “jump” two grades in one year! They work hard, and now they deserve to have fun!

In the Jewish tradition when a student finishes learning one of the holy books there is a celebration called Siyum. Usually, for the student this is a small party with his favorite things such as ice cream or pizza. Here at Achim Academy Center for Education we have extended that tradition to include secular learning books, too. During the festivities the student is ceremoniously given his next book of study.

It was a special day - - Lag b'Omer -- and the excitement among the hildren was rising. They were going on an outing - - swimming, fishing, sailing, an open-fire cook-out on a deserted island - - what a glorious fun day was ahead of them.
