My four years at Penn were the best 4 years of my life, and as CEO of Crystal Clear Tutors it has been an honor and privilege to help hundreds of students gain matriculation at Penn, Harvard and other top-100 university. That’s why, more than anyone, I am shocked and dismayed by the rise of rabid hatred of Jews at top universities, most notably my alma mater. But even more shocking is the lack of necessary administrative response on the parts of administrations at Penn, Harvard, MIT and elsewhere. It is unfortunate that it took a Congressional hearing and months of protests for President Magill of Penn to resign, but she finally did the right thing by resigning, and Presidents Gay of Harvard and Kornbluth of MIT and others should follow suit and resign immediately. It is truly sad that at Crystal Clear Tutors we now have to guide our Jewish students on where to apply not just in terms of academics but in terms of their safety! This cannot and should not happen in the United States of America 78 years after the Holocaust.
I have such fond memories of walking up and down Locust Walk to get to class, but this year DOZENS of Penn Students have marched up and down Locust Walk chanting “3,5,7,9, We want Jewish genocide.” Similar things have happened at Harvard, MIT and elsewhere. Out of hundreds of incidents, there have been only two arrests, and most of the offenders continue to offend and continue to violate the human rights of Jewish students on campus, not to mention make it very difficult for them to concentrate on their studies. Presidents Magill and Gay and others have dismissed concerns regarding the clear and present dangers of anti-Semitism on the grounds that it “depends on the context” and may be protected by freedom of speech. Nay! Nothing can be further from the legal truth! Freedom of speech does not allow you to shout “fire” in a crowded theatre and it certainly doesn’t allow you to call for the murder of an entire race and culture of people. Offending students need to be arrested and charged immediately, and upon being arrested they must be suspended or expelled predicated on the severity of their crimes. The asinine double standard at elite universities must come to and end. Would these same universities tolerate Anglo-Saxon students chanting, "2,4,6,8, killing blacks is really great."?
The Jews are the most persecuted minority in history, yet somehow on so many campuses we’re the minority that gets the least protection and suffers the most discrimination. At Crystal Clear Tutors we have helped over 1,000 students of all racial and cultural backgrounds achieve matriculation at their schools of choice, and now more than ever we’re committed to doing the research necessary to help you choose a school in which your students will not only excel academically but will do so by virtue of being free of intimidation and harassment. The current generation of adults has failed us, but I have no doubt that when our students rise to a time and place of leadership, they will lead by both intellectual and moral example.
