Beloved Kindergarten teacher, Ms. T. is known for her endless energy and her special ability to personally relate to and appreciate every student that passes through her classroom (over 600 and counting!) She has been a part of the Lehrman family since she responded to a Lehrman job posting in the newspaper 36 years ago. All three of Ms. T's children are Lehrman alumni and lifelong Lehrman Lions.
Some of you might know her as the teacher who has morning dance sessions with her students, the one with a special comedic ability to make any Kindergartener laugh uncontrollably, or as the teacher who will stand outside at carpool in the pouring rain making sure every student gets to their car safely and as dry as possible. Ms. T is a living example of what we mean when we speak about, "The Lehrman Difference." Her commitment to discipline and excellence are reflected both in and out of the school setting. Perhaps you have seen Ms. T running through Miami Beach, training for one of the many races she participates in including the intensely competitive and challenging Spartan Race.
Many can attest to her ability to remember her students' names decades after they have left her class. She is someone whose passion for teaching transcends the classroom, evident not just when she teaches, but in any conversation one might have with her. When asked what her approach to teaching is, she says it can be summed up in this quote by Albert Einstein, "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." We are so grateful to have Ms. T here at Lehrman to teach our Kindergarten fish how to swim. *
