Studying gears, pulley drives and sprockets in Principles of Engineering. This is a sprocket system built by two students "just for fun" (wasn't assigned). It's awesome to see them enjoying it! (Kevin and Maverick)

Midway through day 2, House Larkin (orange) has two soldiers remaining (I believe they've named them Jefferson and Samantha). House Subira (blue) has three badly wounded left. House Toivo (green) has one wounded left. House Cadogan (yellow) has 1 who has defied the odds and although completely surrounded by falling rubble, did not get knocked down and now the rubble is actually protecting him.

As a school, Hart Career Center has 10 students who qualified for nationals. 3 from Cosmetology, 2 from Video Game Design, 3 for Engineering Design, 1 for Principles of Engineering and 1 for Electronics Technology. We still have one contest, Additive Manufacturing, that will be held on April 27th. The most any staff member can remember sending in the past was 4 or 5. We are so very proud of our kids!

It's so exciting to share that out of three contests at SkillsUSA State Contest that our program competed in, we won gold in every single one and will be going on to Nationals this summer! Congratulations to Jacy for gold in Principles of Engineering Technology (hydroelectric dam), Conner, Ryan and Vinny for gold in Engineering Technology (sign language glove), and Paul and Ryan for medaling gold and bronze in Electronics Technology! Louisville here we come!

We weren't the only ones either. Our school represented itself in an amazing way and I'll share the school wide results when they're available! Go DHCC!!!

Here's a picture of our ASL teaching tool glove. It connects to a computer via Bluetooth and gives the user feedback on whether they have their hand and fingers properly positioned.
