Summary of PTO Meeting 9.23.26

Current and upcoming Events at the Hawthorne

Math iReady Testing was last week, this week is Reading. Overall looks like our reading has improved over last year’s numbers 😊
Next Wednesday the 30th – is the “Things that Go” Event and a Bookfair
PTO will have a table in the Gym with Popsicles – come find us.
Homecoming is October 9th – Also Tyron Lue Day of Service (also Early release day)
October 22nd – Club Choice (fundraiser) Pick up in the afternoon
Parent Teacher Conferences are the last week of October ( 26-29 )

PTO will provide food for the teachers that are staying late in evening for the conferences. We will send out a message asking for help providing food closer time.
Halloween Partys will be Oct. 29th (Thursday) in the afternoon since no school on Friday Oct. 30th.

Things the School is getting with PTO help
Funnel Ball will be added to playground once we figure out who is approved to install.
Attendance Prizes
No Major/No Minor gifts
New Hawthorne Backdrop for pictures for events and assemblies
Supplementing 1st Grade Field Trip to Hickory Ridge
Replacing Walkies that are used by staff for communication and security

Other Events that PTO will sponsor this year:
Mother/Son – in the Spring
Craft Night – in the Spring usually
Silent Auction – Baskets for each grade – Usually in February
Teacher Appreciation Week

During tonight’s meeting, we will be nominating and voting on new PTO officers for the upcoming school year. We’ll also discuss upcoming events, plans for the school year, and ways we can continue supporting our students and teachers.

5th grade parents! Picnic shirts are in! We will have them at the school at 730 tomorrow morning! We will also have them at the picnic!

Hello Hawthorne families!

We wanted to let everyone know that we will be holding a summer PTO meeting to vote on PTO officers for the upcoming school year.

As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, we are actively looking for new PTO officers and encouraging parents who are interested in becoming more involved to consider joining the board. We currently know of at least two officer positions that will be open, and elections for all officer positions will take place during the summer PTO meeting.

We are currently planning to set the meeting date for late July or early August and will share the official date and time soon. We encourage anyone interested in becoming more involved and helping support our students, staff, and school community to attend! Thank you for your continued support of Hawthorne PTO.
