THERE ARE ONLY A FEW KINDS OF INCORRECT ANSWERS ON THE SAT:
1. LITERARY INTERPRETATION: often times in English class our professor tells us to interpret what the author is trying to say. This is NOT ALLOWED on the SAT for a correct answer.
2. DIRECT CONTRADICTION: Often times the SAT will intentionally give an answer choice that contradicts exactly contradicts the text. This makes the reader second guess themselves and reread something they already understood, wasting time to answer questions.
3. COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT: Similar to direct contradicitons, test makers will include these kind of answer choices to make the reader question themselves and waste time rereading things they already understood.
4. CONFUSED RELATIONSHIPS: A test-maker may confuse the relationships in the answer choice by saying something like “John drove Pat to school” when the text says that Pat was the driver. This confuses the reader and makes them go back to look if they misread something, causing more time wasted. REMEMBER: The SAT test-makers are TRYING to TRICK YOU! Be WEARY of their TACTICS to AVOID falling VICTIM!

✅ It may seem HARD to BELIEVE, but there are only TWO types of CORRECT ANSWERS on the SAT reading comprehension section;
✏️ RESTATEMENT: for a restatement correct answer choice, the text will repeat the same idea as the answer choice through reordering of words and synonyms. For example, if the text said John was unable to fix his poor behavior, and the answer choice said John had perpetual behavior issues, this would be a restatement as his inability to fix his issue is restated in the answer choice by saying his behavior issues are “perpetual.”
👍Demonstration: a demonstration correct answer choice doesn’t merely “restate” the text, rather it “demonstrates” it through examples and scenarios written by the author. For example, the text may give examples such as John yelling at his parents, disobeying authority, and even starting fights. These examples would be demonstrating the answer choice that John has behavioral issues. ;
📓IT’S REALLY THAT SIMPLE!
The SAT may make you think that the test is way more COMPLICATED and DIFFICULT than it actually is.
BUT, if an answer choice neither RESTATES or DEMONSTRATES, then simply IGNORE IT
