🎃🍂 Fall Fun at Rock Hill Barn! 🍂🎃

Our 2nd graders had the BEST day at Rock Hill Barn! From pumpkin activities and fun fall relays to visiting the animals, there was plenty of excitement, laughter, and hands-on fun!

Field trips are such a great way to take learning beyond the classroom, experience new things, and make memories with friends.

A beautiful fall day + lots of fun = a great adventure for our Tigers!

🎭🐐 Readers Theater in 2nd Grade! 🐐🎭

Mrs. Michaela’s 2nd graders are bringing learning to life! After learning about the elements of drama, students put their skills into action with a Readers Theater performance of the folktale The Three Billy Goats Gruff!

Each student took on a role and worked with their group to practice dialogue while focusing on expression, fluency, and reading with confidence.

And performing takes courage! We loved seeing our Tigers show bravery as they performed in front of their classmates and just as importantly, practice being a respectful and encouraging audience for one another.

Learning is always a little more fun when you get to become part of the story!

Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Shelby’s 1st graders put a fun spin on spelling practice with Musical Boards!

Students had a blast moving, learning, and practicing their spelling skills in this creative, interactive activity!

🎶 Music Job Fair: Where Talent Meets the Future!

Our 4th and 5th grade music students took career exploration to the next level with a Music Job Fair! Students researched a variety of music-related careers, learned about education requirements, salaries, job responsibilities, and more. Then, they put that research into action by creating their own résumés and participating in job interviews!

Career exposure at the elementary level is an important focus as we begin laying the foundation for students’ Individual Graduation Plans. We want our Tigers thinking early about their interests, strengths, and the many possibilities waiting for them beyond the classroom.

From music teachers and composers to band members, agents, and more, these students explored just how many careers can grow from a love of music.

And judging by these résumés and interviews, it’s safe to say the future of music education may be sitting in our classrooms today!

Thank you to Mr. Crystal Faulkner for making this possible for our students. This is what it looks like when we help students Level Up their learning and connect it to their future!

🧡 More Pre-K Week Fun! 🧡

Our students showed their Tiger pride by wearing ORANGE and welcomed some very special guest readers — Mrs. Lisa Deloach, Mrs. Rashida Daniel-Taylor, Mrs. Pam Holloway, Mrs. Katie Griswold, Mrs. Lindsey Tucker and Mrs. Miranda Thigpen! Thank you for taking the time to share a story and some smiles with our Pre-K students!

The fun didn’t stop there! Our classrooms have been busy with creative, hands-on learning like making Play-Doh and creating colorful Froot Loop fish!

Reading, creating, exploring, and learning through play…that is what Pre-K is all about!

Coach (noun): someone who helps others recognize their strengths, sharpen their skills, and become better than they were before.

Today, we celebrate two of the very best—Mrs. Alyx Powell and Mrs. Jill Vining—on Instructional Coaches Day!

Both Mrs. Alyx and Mrs. Jill bring years of classroom experience to their roles, and that experience matters. They understand the challenges of teaching because they’ve lived them. They know what it takes to plan intentionally, meet students where they are, adjust when something isn’t working, and celebrate when it finally clicks.

Now, they use that knowledge to support our teachers, strengthen instruction, encourage growth, and ultimately make a difference for OUR kids.

We are so grateful for the knowledge, heart, and encouragement Mrs. Alyx and Mrs. Jill bring to MES. Great coaches don’t just help people do better—they help them believe they CAN do better. 🧡🖤
