Mr. David Hall, UGA Cooperative Extension/Water Educator, visited our 6th grade science 4H’ers today! Students were able to connect their knowledge of water and the water cycle to Mr. David’s watershed lesson.

He is pictured with Mrs. Hickman’s 3rd block, which is our 6th Grade Club of the Month!

Some of our MMS students headed down to Skidaway Island to the Uga Marine center on Monday. We were able to participate in several activities and workshops throughout the day.

Our first workshop included Gyotaku which is a traditional Japanese method of fish printing that dates back to the mid-1800s. Students learned a little bit of the history and purpose behind the art form and then created an atomically correct print of a marine animal of their choice.

Later in the day, we were able to learn in-depth about the types of marine life that exist around the marine data center, and we’re able to touch some of the creatures firsthand. And we ended the day with a picnic lunch and a hike through the maritime forest learning about habitats and how to observe nature more deeply.

Tigers took the title after a 12-8 win over J.R. Trippe in the championship game tonight in the Jungle!

Friends Lyla Kirkland and Harper Brockman used their House Points, earned by following the Winning 50, to enjoy lunch and break in the Tiger Den! 🎉

They had a great time shooting basketball, playing pool, and enjoying a little air hockey. 🏀🎱🏒
