It has been said that when individuals retire, they need to have five hobbies. Below are those five categories those hobbies should be in.

We believe the Auxiliary can definitely help out with the last three on the list! By joining the Auxiliary and becoming a volunteer in the gift shop, you will LEARN βœ… about the Auxiliary, its history, its mission and the ins and outs of the gift shop.
As a volunteer in the gift shop, you will definitely develop SOCIAL CONNECTIONS βœ… by visiting with the customers who frequent the shop.
And, maybe by just getting out of the house for a few hours a week would help bring PEACE. βœ…

The Five Essential Retirement Hobbies:

1. Fitness: Keeps your body strong and active.Examples: Walking, swimming, yoga, or pickleball.

2. Creativity: Lets you make things with your hands or mind.Examples: Painting, woodworking, or cooking.

3. Learning: Keeps your brain sharp and curious.Examples: Reading books, studying a language, or doing genealogy.

4. Social Connection: Keeps you linked to other people so you do not feel alone.Examples: Joining a club, volunteering, or playing group card games.

5. Peace: Gives your mind a quiet break from stress.Examples: Gardening, birdwatching, or quiet time in nature.
